I’m a mum-of-22 & nearly bought an £850k country pad but 5 of my kids wouldn’t have fit – I’m glad it fell through

THEY were planning on shelling out £850,000 for a country pad offering them more privacy.

But the Radford family's offer on the sprawling home has fallen through - with the emotional time documented on the new series of their reality show.

And Sue has revealed she's actually relieved the move fell through in the endCredit: Instagram

"We really wanted to move to the countryside for a quieter life, a bit more privacy," Sue said.

"When it fell through it was absolutely gutting, but sometimes you think these things happen for a reason and I guess it was just not meant to be.

"It was upsetting when it happened. The house move was an emotional episode.”

Mum-of-22 Sue and husband Noel were planning on keeping their current house for five of their older children as they moved to the new pad with the younger ones of their brood.

However, Sue has admitted she's actually somewhat relieved that the house plans have now fallen through.

"It always bothered me that some of the older kids were going to still live in this house and we were going to go and live in the new house," she told

"So I’m glad that we’re not doing it now.

"There are so many memories that have been made in this house.

"It would have been a shame to have left it behind.”

Other storylines making it into the new season of their Channel 5 programme 22 Kids and Counting include their youngest daughter Heidie preparing to start school in September.

And Sue is still struggling to come to terms with that.

"Things will be very different for me because I won’t have any babies at home," she said.

"That will be a strange feeling!"

It will also document Millie's engagement, with the wedding planned for the end of the year.

And while Sue and Noel have faced criticism in the past for putting their kids on the small screen, she insisted they've always done their best to keep their brood grounded.

The Radford Family's TV history

THE first ever episode of 22 Kids and Counting aired on Channel 5 on 22nd February, 2021.

After the first series - which had just four episodes in it - performed well, Channel 5 commissioned a 10-episode second season, which was broadcast in 2022.

They went on to commission a third series, which included a Christmas special aired in December 2023.

The fourth season began airing in January 2024, but fans were left disappointed when it stopped after six episodes.

Sue and Noel reassured viewers that they were just taking a little break, and the next episode will be airing on 21st July.

"At the end of the day, the kids know we are a normal family," she said.

"We have a few more children than most, but we are just a normal family and they don’t see themselves as famous.

"We’re just a normal family with lots more children!

"I think the kids will always be grounded in that respect."
