‘We looked like we were going on a hen do to Benidorm’ Abbey Clancy reveals blunder she made at Taylor Swift concert

The model thought people would go to as much effort as she did

IT SEEMS like just about everyone got to see Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour when it finally came to the UK back in June, and Abbey Clancy was among the the crowd in Wembley.

But things didn't go quite to plan for the model, as she explained on the most recent episode of The Therapy Crouch, the podcast she shares with husband Peter Crouch.

Since she'd seen everyone going all out with their concert outfits on social media Abbey decided she would do the same and planned sparkly outfits complete with pink cowboy hats and boots for the show.

"I got everyone all the bracelets, the cowboy boots, the glittery skirts, the Taylor T-shirts, the cowboy hats," she said.

But it wasn't just the outfits that Abbey decided to go with extra mile with.

She also forked out to have a pink hummer limo to take them to the stadium.

But despite spending all the time getting ready and making it a concert to remember for daughter Liberty, things didn't quite turn out as she planned.

That's because no one else at the concert seemed to go to half as much effort as they did, leaving Abbey feeling mortified.

"We looked like we were going on a hen do to Benidorm,"; she joked with Peter.

Apart from a few younger kids wearing cowboy hats, everyone else seemed to opt for a more lowkey look.

Even Peter found the gaffe funny.

Taylor Swift praises Travis Kelce’s Eras Tour debut at London show as she admits to ‘swooning’ over boyfriend in tribute

"When Ab called me I was crying [laughing]," he said.

The blunder didn't stop Abbey, daughter Liberty and her friends having a blast at the show though, as she confessed she still had a blast.

The mum's fashion faux pas comes just after she slated a popular noughties trend that's made a return.

On a previous episode of the podcast The Britain's Next Top Model star explained: “I think things always come back around, which is so annoying because I’ve literally given away about a million pairs of J Brand jeans.

“Skinny jeans, hipsters, flares. I love hipsters.”

The model then recognised that Juicy Couture, which was popularised by heiress, socialite and OG influencer Paris Hilton, has also become trendy again.

She claimed that the popular 2000s trend has spiked in popularity since Zendaya wore a Juicy Couture pink zip-up hoodie in the hit 2024 film Challengers, where the famous actress plays a tennis player turned coach.

Abbey continued: “The girl in the tennis movie [Zendaya] wore a Juicy tracksuit.

“I just bought some the other day.”

Despite this, she claimed: “But they don’t make Juicy tracksuits like they used to.

“I used to love my Juicy trackie. It was so stretchy.

“It was super tight on the arms, like belly top, and then super wide leg."

Is Taylor Swift's Eras merch worth the price tag?

AHEAD of going to see Taylor in action, Fabulous Digital Writer Leanne Hall weighs in on whether the merch is really worth the price tag:

"As a 29-year-old Swiftie who made it to the top 0.1% of Taylor listeners on Spotify last year, you could say I’m very excited to see her on the Era’s Tour in London later this month.

"With the three-hour long set list,  there’s no surprise Taylor was named Time Magazine's Person of the Year and fans lucky enough to get tickets know they’re about to watch the concert of the century.

"The Eras Tour catapulted the singer/songwriter into the billionaires club, and it’s no surprise when some UK tickets were going for almost £700 a pop.

"While tickets were expensive, her merch isn’t far off what most artists price their stuff at, and I for one will be spending hundreds to get my hands on sweaters and T-shirts from the tour.

"While £70 for a hoodie would make me think twice if I was shopping in a store, this isn’t a regular hoodie.

"Yes, you’ll look fabulous heading to the shops in it, but it’s also a piece of the day you get to keep forever to look back fondly on, and for me and many other Swifties, no price tag can match that."
