THE SUN’S campaign to help the UK’s struggling baby banks has helped to create the UK’s very first national network of banks, the Baby Bank Alliance.
Baby banks are community organisations which support families in need with everything from cots, nappies and wipes to clothes and books.
Shocking new figures released today by Baby Bank Alliance reveal that the almost 200,000 British children were supported by baby banks last year.
The research also showed a 54 per cent increase in referrals to baby banks between 2021 and 2023.
Sophie Livingstone, Chair of the Baby Bank Alliance said: "All children should have a safe place to sleep, warm clothes and shoes that fit.
"Without baby banks across the UK providing this incredible safety net, thousands of children would be missing out."
