My go-to snack cured my ‘violent’ acne in 2 weeks – I wanted to eat more fiber but it dramatically cleared my skin

He eats two to three large sizes of it a day

A MAN prone to acne shared how he found a cure that didn't have anything to do with what he put on his face, but rather what he put in his body.

After switching up his diet for health reasons, he discovered that a fibrous snack was the key to clearing up his "violent breakouts" in just a few weeks.

Reddit user explained in a post that he adopted a healthier lifestyle to help boost his "low testosterone levels."

He said he "made a lot of progress over the past year by putting on weight and exercising and sleeping better."

His levels did increase but at a cost.

"Unfortunately, the increase in my levels caused me to start violently breaking out for a good ten months or so despite having healthier habits," he said.

He decided to focus on cooking his own meals and consuming more micronutrients "instead of eating quick convenient foods."

The Reddit user also decreased his intake of sugar and processed foods.

He noted that the dietary changes helped his skin "a little bit but not completely."

DIETARY DECISIONS

As a result, he became even stricter with his diet.

He started eating more raw vegetables and greens, but there was one food that he favored over the rest.

"For a couple weeks now, I've been eating two to three large carrots per day for fiber and vitamins," he said.

The reason he started eating more of the rooted plant was because it's a "quick and easy" snack.

"For those two weeks my acne has been decreasing dramatically, even on my body," he said.

"Today as I write this, my skin is almost fully clear aside from blemishes from my last breakout."

The Reddit user assumed that there were other factors at play, but he believed the carrots are what gave him "the most dramatic result.";

And it seems he was on to something.

Colorful vegetables are packed with anti-inflammatory antioxidants and nutrients, such as vitamin C, that can help reduce acne symptoms, according to .

REDDITOR REACTIONS

Many Redditors agreed with the benefits of the orange vegetable.

"Carrots are full of vitamin A, so yes this checks out," one commented.

"Vitamin A (in many of its forms) is the primary ingredient that retinols are made from, which helps to heal skin, increase skin cell turnover, and can treat acne."

Another wrote that they've had similar results with sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and acorn squash because they also "have a ton of vitamin A."

Others offered suggestions to make it tastier.

"If anyone gets bored of carrots, I buy pure carrot juice (they sell it at Walmart and grocery stores) and use it as my base for smoothies," one Redditor shared.

"I throw frozen spinach in there too. Plus fruits to mask the taste or it would be gross. Fair warning the color looks gross but tastes good."

"I used to eat this deranged TikTok snack that turned out to be delicious. Carrot ribbons dressed in balsamic, lemon, and a sprinkle of salt. I couldn’t get enough," someone else chimed in.

One Redditor was concerned that it would make their "skin tone look orangey" because they had the problem in the past.

"I read that it takes a LOTTT more carrots over the course of many many weeks to get excessively orange," the original poster replied.
