SKINSATIONAL

I bought a pricey, super-popular cream for years – then I found a dupe at Costco that’s better and saves money

And why a shopper is 'obsessed' with the dupe

DOLLAR TREE BEAUTY DUPES

A SPOT-ON dupe for a popular body cream is saving one shopper a lot of money — and she wants others to know about the deal, too.

She raved that Costco sells a product with the same scent and better absorption for a fraction of the price.

Her new go-to? Nutrius Brazilian Cream.

She compared a budget-friendly beauty buy sold at Costco to Sol De Janeiro’s Bum Bum Cream, which has a cult following.

“It’s better than the name brand,” she said on Reddit, writing under the handle .

“The scent is great and matches that of the Sol de Janeiro, plus it saves money.

“Bought the name brand for several years until this came out at Costco.

“Now I only buy this. The ingredients match enough for me.

“The Nutrius seems to absorb better for me.”

Several commenters shared similarly positive reviews for the affordable body cream.

“I love this, it’s absolutely changed my skin,” one person said.

“It seems to always be moisturized now and I’ve gotten so many compliments about my skin after using this.”

I had to run home to try Costco's Sol de Janeiro dupe - it was 10/10, it felt the exact same & smelled great too

“It’s like a softer version of the Bum Bum cream and I’m personally obsessed with it because it’s not an exact replica but is just as nutty and gourmand as Cheirosa 62,” another said.

“It’s also great for layering with the body spray as Sol de Janeiro doesn’t tend to last very long on the skin.

“It’s 100% worth the buy though for the price.”

SHOPPER’S VERDICT

The similarities between the two products were previously pointed out by Laura Saxe () on TikTok.

She went viral on the social media app when she compared the body creams side by side.

The scents were almost identical, but she noticed that the Bum Bum cream was “slightly sweeter.”

Despite being different colors, she said the Nutrius Brazilian Body Butter Cream felt the same on her skin as Sol de Janeiro’s Bum Bum cream.

“Overall this is a 10/10 dupe,” Laura said.
