ARE you tired of your taps being covered in water stains and not looking their best?
One woman has claimed to have found an incredible solution using an item you may already have or that is very cheap to buy.
TikTok user uploaded a video saying: “Here’s an easy trick to keep your faucets sparkling!”
She explained: “Simply rub candle wax over the faucet and polish it with a dry microfiber cloth for a smooth, water-repellent finish.
“You can also use wax paper for the same effect!
“Both methods create a barrier that helps prevent those stubborn hard water stains, keeping your faucets looking brand new!”
More on cleaning
After removing watermarks with vinegar, she showed how all you need to do is wipe a candle on your metal taps so they are coated in some wax.
Then you get your microfibre cloth and wipe it carefully down.
All stains should then be removed and according to the home hacks queen, your taps will then be “water-repellent.”
The best part of the hack is it only takes seconds, and you can pick up candles in multipacks, which work out very cheaply for each individual one.
Her video has clearly left an impression on her viewers, as it has racked up 242,000 likes.
One person wrote: “you’re telling me I just needed candle wax the whole time.”
Another added: “Omg needed this.”
A third saying: “Definitely trying this.”
According to plumbing professionals , vinegar works wonders with removing water marks.
They advised: “Vinegar is a safe, all-natural household cleaner with the amazing ability to combat hard water stains.
“Pour some in a spray bottle and squirt any surface where you find hard water stains.
“Let it sit for five to 15 minutes to give the vinegar time to break down the minerals in the chalky, white stain.
“After soaking long enough, scrub the surface with an old toothbrush. Use a larger bristle brush when cleaning bigger areas.”
