I went on a date with a MURDERER – I thought he ticked all my boxes but my ‘avid investigator’ mum spotted a red flag
Read on to find out the key detail her mum noticed was suspect
WHEN you head out on a first date, you never know how it will turn out which is all part of the excitement.
But one woman was left horrified when she realised her date was a killer.
Taking to social media, the woman revealed she was 18 at the time and working in a luxury hotel and she had the hots for the maintenance man working there as well.
He apparently ticked all the boxes as she stated the 25-year-old was ‘handsome, hardworking and funny.’
Over time the pair developed a friendship working together and a few months later he asked her out for a drink.
she decided it wouldn’t do any harm so the pair met up for dinner and drinks and seemed to have a great time until she asked one vital question.
She decided to ask him what his last name was which he said was ‘White’ obviously she thought nothing of it at the time and they continued with the date.
But later, whilst working, she realised he had a different name on his name tag – ‘Morrison.’
She said: “I never questioned this to him but immediately found this to be very strange…”
Later, when she got home she told her mum about the encounter, and she immediately thought it was a ‘red flag.’
Her mum later had come rushing up the stairs in a panic after she started to investigate.
“A few hours later she comes up to my room with panic saying that the very man I went on a date with had beat someone to death when he was 17, he bullied and chased the younger victim to a dead end where he acted out a prolonged and viscous attack that was so severe that the victim had to have a closed coffin,” she added.
“My mum is an avid investigator when it comes to these things, we never went out again but I did have to see him at work which made it very awkward.”
She shared her story on the Reddit forum adding other stories of people she had met who had committed crimes.
“A few years ago a friend of mine from school also stabbed a man to death, and another friend punched someone in the face and they died as a result of injury,” she revealed.
People were quick to comment on the post, claiming you should always trust your mother.
Staying safe on a first date
Keeping safe on a first date is crucial. Here are some tips to help ensure your safety:
- Meet in a Public Place: Opt for a well-populated, public location such as a café, restaurant, or park. Avoid secluded areas.
- Inform Someone: Let a friend or family member know where you’re going, who you’re meeting, and the expected time you’ll be back. Share details about your date if possible.
- Transport: Arrange your own transport to and from the date. This gives you control over when you arrive and leave.
- Keep Personal Information Private: Avoid sharing too much personal information, such as your home address or detailed work schedule, until you know the person better.
- Stay Sober: Limit your alcohol intake to ensure you remain in control of your actions and decisions.
- Trust Your Instincts: If something feels off, don’t hesitate to leave. Your safety and comfort are paramount.
- Have a Backup Plan: Arrange a signal with a friend to call or text you at a certain time, or plan an exit strategy if things aren’t going well.
- Use Technology: Share your location with a trusted friend using your phone’s location-sharing features.
- Keep Valuables Secure: Be mindful of your belongings and avoid bringing unnecessary valuables.
- Be Cautious with Online Dates: If you’re meeting someone from an online platform, ensure you’ve had ample communication beforehand and verify their identity as much as possible.
Remember, it’s perfectly okay to prioritise your safety and comfort on a first date.
