The duo have their own cleaning business and launderette, so definitely know a thing or two about cleaning hacks and tools.

In a recent post, the cleaning experts showed off what looked like a clean kitchen sink.

But after using a DIY ‘key’ to lift the plug, they were disgusted to find a build up of dirt that would “make a cockroach bowk”.

They said: “So who knew that your sink plug, sink hole, sink drain comes out? Who knew that?

“And see when you do this, oh my goodness you are gonna be in for a shock.

“You are gonna be shocked at this dirt under here.

“This is just absolutely minging, absolutely disgusting. Imagine you’re thinking your sink is clean, that would give a cockroach the bowk.

“How does that happen when you’ve got so much water, clean water going down that drain?”

To clean the hidden section below the plug hole, Hazel and Claire used the plug’s metal strainer to twist open the bolt holding the sink hole in place.

Once lifted, they were able to give the beneath section a good scrub to get it sparkling again in seconds.

But they did advise any other cleaning fanatics to also place a basin below the pipes in the cupboard under their sink before getting started.

They said: “You’ve got to put a bowl underneath it folks because you’re gonna put a lot of water down there and it’s gonna end up wetting the underneath of your sink in your cupboard.

“So make sure you put a bowl down.”

Their fellow cleaning fans have been left horrified at the thought of the dirt lurking in their own kitchen sinks, and some have already given the easy hack a go.

One said: “Me, yip what a shock.”
