Eagle-eyed fans spotted that Ellie had made the tattoo larger in a rundown of pictures from her year so far

The teenager took to her to share a range of pictures from the year so far, with eagle-eyed fans spotting a change in her appearance in the June snap.

While posing in a backless yellow dress, Ellie drew attention to the intricate design which ran for almost the whole of her back.

Ellie has clearly added to the etching – which had initially been done dots intertwined with a floral vine – since she first debuted it back in March.

The tattoo looked to be both longer and wider than at first, with Ellie pulling her long brunette to the front to properly show it off.

“Prettiest girl,” one person wrote in the comments.

As another added: “Gorgeous and lovely tattoo!”

When Ellie initially premiered the tattoo, she admitted she’d had to build herself up to get the daring design.

“She braved it and finally got the spine tattoo,” Ellie wrote over a picture of herself wearing a white halterneck dress.

The inking featured a line of dots down Ellie’s back, with a floral vine intertwined.

It seems Ellie is following in mum Sue’s footsteps by getting the tattoos, as the family matriarch also has inkings – both of which are tributes to her son Alfie, who was stillborn in 2014.

‘Was not expecting this' Sue Radford says at Noel's 'big surprise' after news Britain's Biggest Family is getting bigger

“The hand tattoo is Alfie’s handprints and I’ve also got his footprints on my foot,” she said.

“I love that I can always see his little hand prints on my hand and that his little feet always walk with me wherever I go”.

As well as the footprints, Sue got the words “Alfie Thomas Radford” and his birth date inked on her foot.

“I love them,” Sue said during a Facebook Q&A session with fans.

Which tattoos hurt the most?

Depending on what part of your body you choose to ink, tattoos can range significantly in terms of pain levels.

Some of the most painful areas are those where the skin tends to be thinner or closer to the bone.

Each area has specific factors which contribute to the level of pain.

Ribcage: Thin skin, little muscle, and many nerve endings.

Feet and ankles: Many bones, tendons, and nerve endings close to the surface.

Hands and fingers: Many bones, tendons, and nerve endings, resulting in increased pain during tattooing. Knuckles can be especially painful.

Spine: Proximity of the spinal cord and nerve endings makes it sensitive. Tattooing directly over the vertebrae can be especially painful.

Knees and elbows: Thin skin and little padding between the skin and the underlying bones.

Armpits and groin: High concentration of nerve endings and lymph nodes.

Neck and throat:  Thin and sensitive skin, with many nerve endings and blood vessels close to the surface.

“I really just love them.”

And while Sue said she wanted to get the handprints tattooed again to brighten them up, she said she wouldn’t get her foot one redone.

“It was so, so painful,” she said.

“Worse than childbirth!”

Sue also has a tribal-style tattoo on the outside of her right hand.
