My mum hid my birth control when I was 15 to stop me having sex… it backfired when I became a teen mum at 16
A WOMAN has told how her mum hid her birth control in a desperate attempt to stop her having sex, only for the teen to end up pregnant.
The now 23-year-old wrote in to the hosts of Closet Confessions podcast to reveal how she ended up becoming a teen mum.
Co-hosts of the author and journalist, Candice Brathwaite, and actress and online personality, Coco Sarel, share their confessions as well as ones from their online fans.
Confessing to the pair, the anonymous woman revealed she was 15 when she first started having sex with her boyfriend.
Taking the sensible route, she decided to get contraception, but it didn't go quite to plan.
She said: I'm always wondering how different my life would be if I didn't have a child, let me explain..."

"I was in high school and sure as hell didn't want a baby," she said.
"I was given the pill and took it with no problems.
"Fast forward a few months, I went out one day as soon as I walked through the door my mum started shouting, screaming, throwing things.. she found my birth control."
Knowing her mum would not be happy she was having sex she told her mum it was to help with her periods.

But her mum didn't buy her story and took the pills away - hoping it would stop her from having sex altogether.
Instead, she carried on, and a few months later found out she was pregnant at just 16.
Deciding motherhood wasn't for her as a teenager, she went to the abortion clinic.
However, it was too late because she was just over the 24 week mark.
Instead, she opted to keep her pregnancy a secret for eight months.
While she soon came around to the idea of being a young mum, her mum had nothing left to say.
She continued: "I'm sure that's because she knows that she is part of the reason I got pregnant.

The under-18 conception rate has decreased considerably since 2007, reports .
Between 2007 and 2021, the under-18 conception rate in England and Wales decreased by 68%, from 42 per 1,000 women to 13 per 1,000 women.
This resulted in 13,131 under-18 conceptions in England and Wales in 2021.
"I'm now 23, my son is six, I love him ever so much.
"I have been no contact with my mother for nearly two years now because of her toxic behaviour."
The podcast hosts were left stunned by the mum's behaviour.

Coco said: "I find it to be problematic when parents love to be in La La Land and want to pretend my 15/16-year-old child is still Virgin Mary.
"If your kids are, I think, from the age of 16 personally, you should be having conversations about at least safe sex, not just preventative form having a baby but STDs."
