Here's what she had to say...
Flooring
First up, Julia said she was going to make people mad with a "controversial choice".
"But parquet flooring", she sighed.
"Parquet flooring has a place and it looks stunning when done right and in the right setting.

"But for loads of people, it just doesn't look good."
Parquet flooring is a type of wood flooring made by laying tiles in a pattern to create a striking geometric design, often looking like zig zags.
Julia said: "The pattern really needs big rooms, big ceilings and it needs to be done at a really, really high quality to look amazing.
"So cheap laminate, oh, it just doesn't look good. I'm sorry I just don't think it looks good. People are gonna be mad at me, I know."
Sofas
Next up, Julia took aim at the trusty leather sofa - and not even high end Chesterfields are safe.
The interiors expert said: "I can't do it, I don't get it, I don't think I've ever seen a leather sofa that I like.
"Even a Chesterfield, even like a traditional one, I can't get on board.
"For me there's no texture in them and we all know how much I love texture."
She continued: "They really fall flat, they kind of look like they should be in a corporate setting, they should be in an office or a doctor's office or something.
"They just, they don't give personality, they don't give warm.
"I know some people love them for their practical sense so that they're clean, they're wipeable.
"But nowadays you can get such amazing clever fabrics that I just, just a big no-no, especially recliner ones, recliner sofas.
"A wee sub category to that is any sofas that have like a cup holder or a USB. No, big no."
Wall stickers
And finally, Julia urged parents to avoid decals or wall stickers in their kid's room.
She said: "These ones are maybe like dinosaurs or planets or whatever it is.
"I just, they really do give me the ick. I just don't think it equates to a well-designed space, I don't think they're that timeless.
"Your kid's maybe going to grow out of that pretty quickly and you're gonna have to take them down and then repaint."

Offering up an expert alternative, she suggested: "I think a much better way to do a kid's room, if you're wanting to do something on the walls, is going for a wallpaper, either everywhere or up to a picture frame is a much better way to do it.
"I just don't like the stickers."
Trends interior designers hate
IF you want to ensure that your home looks glam, here are the trends that interior designers can't stand.
NO YELLOW: According to Bilal Rehman, yellow paint in a bedroom is a big no no.
He said: “If you want everyone to know you're a horse girl then yellow is perfect for you.”
SIGN OFF: Kelly Hoppen shared her honest thoughts on Live, Love, Laugh signs.
The interior pro explained: “Another gripe of mine - Live, Laugh, Love - those kinds of wooden things that sit on book shelves and floating shelves, that’s so 10, 12, 15 years ago.”
NO GREY YAY: Julie Provenzano explained that grey interiors have been overdone.
She stressed: “We took a good thing and we overdid it to the point that it now feels copy, paste, basic.”
