I upgraded my bathroom tiles for half the price using paint – but trolls say it looks like a 1980s McDonald’s restaurant
REVAMPING your tiles can be a great way of levelling up your outdated bathroom.
However, social media users agreed that one woman's DIY upgrade had the opposite effect.
In her viral , TikTok user Ali () showed her followers the budget-friendly transformation she gave her bathroom tiles.
She revealed that she was able to "upgrade my floors for half the price."
The TikToker achieved this by using paint on her existing tiles rather than lifting and replacing them.
She shared a time lapse of each step of the cheap and cheerful process.

However, viewers were quick to share their criticisms of the transformation.
Ali painted her large beige tiles to look like smaller ones with a white and brown layout pattern.
Her video quickly gained traction, amounting to 29.5 million views, but not everyone was a fan of the new look.
TikTok users revealed what the brown and white tiles reminded them of in the comments section.
