WE ALL want to spoil our kids at Christmas, but the rising costs of bills and food has made it impossible for many.
And one mum has shared the heartbreaking choice she had to make this festive season.
Stacy, a mum-of-three revealed she had to pick between paying off her electricity bill or buying presents for Christmas.
In the clip, she and her daughter could be seen wrapping a gift up, but it wasn’t easy for the mum.
“POV: You had to choose between paying your electric bill or celebrating Christmas,” the mum wrote.
“It’ll get better, right?”
The heartbreaking admission from Stacy is unfortunately not new.
Many mums took to the comments claiming they were putting off paying bills to pay for Christmas and were willing to pay late fees.
Stacy revealed she was paying over £200 a month on electric alone, but decided to skip it this month and make the most of Christmas.
Despite both her and her husband working full-time hours the pair still don’t have enough by the end of the month to save up for Christmas.
In another clip, Stacy revealed that the main reason the family was ‘broke’ was because of the economy.
She claimed all of her bills had doubled in the last year and even the monthly cost of groceries were more expensive than her mortgage payments.
The clip shared to the mum’s TikTok account @has since gone viral with over 450k views and 36k likes.
Plenty of parents took to the comments, praising Stacy for doing her best and admitting they were in similar positions themselves.
One person wrote: “This just made me bawl my eyes out I can relate to this so much.”
Another commented: “My bills will get caught up but watching my babies‘ faces are priceless, it’s well worth paying late fees.”
“I couldn’t agree more,” replied Stacy.
