A money-savvy mum has shared a house tour on TikTok, showing off the glam transformation she's done on her council house.

The thrifty shopper had given the house a luxury feel on a budget - and revealed where she found her best bargains.

To add a personal touch to the space, she'd bought some classy black picture frames from Amazon and printed off adorable snaps of her kids at Boots.

Louise then showed viewers her living room, where she'd placed a gorgeous dining table.

She said: "So I've wanted this table for ages, from Dunelm.

"Anyway, the table itself was about £340, I think.

"I bought the chairs off Dunelm for £69 each and I actually picked up the table for £50, which obviously is a massive, massive bargain."

  • A lick of paint does wonders to make a room feel brand-new.
  • Switch out kitchen cupboard knobs for modern ones instead of buying brand-new cupboards

"Went and picked it up, gave it a deep clean - it was in pretty good condition anyway, but, yeah, beautiful."

To decorate the bargain sofa, Louise had seen some stunning grey and cream square Homebase pillows - but the soft furnishings were pricey, at £18 each.

So clever Louise hatched a plan: "I knew Homebase were closing down, so I kept waiting and waiting and waiting and eventually I got them for £4 each."

Panning the camera round to show the other side of the room, Louise pointed out a set of , just £40 each

But Louise's showstopper was her eye-catching fireplace: "This fireplace was my biggest bargain.

"So I really wanted a marble fireplace, but as we all know, they are thousands of pounds.

"However, I got this for free and cleaned it up."

The thrifty mum had managed to nab her fireplace second-hand for nothing - and after giving it a quick clean, it looked brand new.
