Dream meaning: From snakes to spiders, pregnancy and dental, what do they really mean?
ARE you having the same dream over and over again?
Have you ever stopped to wonder what is says about you and your state of mind?
Our dreams are in fact reflections of how we perceive our everyday experiences, a top dream analyst has revealed.
Not only this, but they also give away how we compare these experiences to everything else we have seen or done in life, told The Sun Online.
In fact, the act of dreaming is essential to our health and wellbeing because it enables us to better understand our emotions.
So if you want to get to the bottom of what those dreams mean, your best bet is to look no further than what you have done in the last few days.
Jane has previously revealed what your most common nightmares really mean.
Now she's lifting the lid on what your dreams say about you - and how you can deal with any underlying issues.
1. Dreaming that you are falling
Chances are most people have endured this one.
You're falling and all of a sudden you jolt awake before you hit the ground.
While it may get the heart racing and leave you in a bit of a panic, there's not as much to worry about as you might think, explained Jane.
She said: "Be guided by what happened to cause the fall."
If you let go of a cliff edge, you should look at what you are letting go of in your life; if the ground crumbled beneath your feet, look at what is shifting in your life.
If you were climbing and lost your grip it could indicate that you've lost sight of your goals, while falling into a black hole could indicate depression.
Jane added: "These are not precise interpretations, they’re examples of how to question your dream and find the connection in your life.
"Explore your dream - is it time to let go and face your fears, to firm your ground, to fall trustingly into the unknown, to change your goals, to explore your sadness, or to fall in love with life?"
2. Dreaming that you can fly
If you regularly find yourself reaching great heights and soaring through the skies in your dreams, the key to understanding them is focusing on how you feel when you wake up.
In some cases they can signal wanting to escape from issues you're facing in life, Jane said.
While for others they are a way of getting a better view of what is going on, to help you resolve difficulties or tricky things you face.
She said: "Did you feel excited about your flying achievement, are you reaching a new higher potential in your life?
"Or did you fly into obstacles - do you doubt your ability to do something amazing in your life?
"Visualise flying high and looking down on your life to see it more clearly."
3. Dreaming that you are naked in public
Finding yourself in public completely naked is something we all dread, dream or no dream.
Dreaming of wandering about in your birthday suit, though potentially a funny tale to tell pals, is actually a sign of something deeper.
It can mean you're not feeling comfortable in your own skin, and may be struggling with confidence and self-esteem.
Jane said: "Do you feel or fear being seen for what you are?
"Not in the flesh, but being seen for what’s in your heart and mind and soul? Is public image important to you, and why?
"Is it time to be more transparent and honest, or to feel good about your natural authentic self rather than try to hide behind an image? Or are you feeling vulnerable, and in need of protection?
"Explore these questions and you’ll know what to do."
4. Dreaming about your teeth falling out
Another one that too many will believe is much more like a nightmare.
You'll find yourself waking in a cold sweat - your tongue frantically sweeping your gnashers to check each one is present and correct.
But, what does it mean?
"Be guided by how you felt in the dream," Jane said.
"Were you embarrassed, shocked, vulnerable, hesitant to open your mouth, or devastated that you couldn’t put them back in?
"Do you fear what comes out of your mouth or feel embarrassed or regretful about something you’ve said?
"This is probably about communication and confidence. Visualise yourself with sparkling strong teeth speaking sparkling confident words."
5. Dreaming about snakes
According to dream experts, snake dreams are open to either positive or negative interpretation.
Usually, when a snake appears in a dream, it means something significant is happening in the subconscious.
In a negative sense, snakes can typically represent a person in a dreamer's life that exhibits toxic behaviour.
Are you surrounding yourself with people that are causing you doubt and worry?
In a positive light, snakes can also represent health and healing.
If you dreamed of a harmless species, it can mean that someone you were originally wary of is no longer threatening to you.
A dead snake can predict the end of a difficult situation or liberation from toxic or self-destructive thoughts.
6. Dreaming about spiders
Spiders, the master web weavers, can mean there is someone in your life who is trying to manipulate you, or that you yourself are manipulating someone.
Analyze situations in your life where you may feel manipulation is occurring.
Dreaming about several spiders crawling over you could mean there's a threatening force that's compromising your wellbeing and safety.
However, spiders are also associated with creativity.
"A web is an artful construct," wrote . "Like the plot of a story, it requires both a birds-eye-view of the larger picture and a microscopic attention to detail."
If a spider is crawling along in your dream, it could signify the progress of personal goals.
7. Dreaming about pregnancy
A pregnancy dream doesn't necessarily have to foreshadow any children-to-be.
A pregnancy dream might instead indicate your feelings about some other change or goal in your life.
“Pregnancy dreams are typically connected to something else in your life that is in growing and development phase,” says Lauri Loewenberg, a professional dream analyst and author.
“To the dreaming mind, it represents ‘a new life’ for you,” Loewenberg added.
It could mean you're ready for a new challenge professionally, or that you've developed a new passion for something.
8. Dreaming about cheating
Dreams about cheating can reflect how you feel about yourself.
If your partner is cheating on you in a dream, it could signify how you feel about your own desirability and sense of security.
If you are cheating on a partner in a dream, it's possible that you may have recently compromised your beliefs or integrity.
"The mind at night will use metaphors," licensed psychologist Nancy Irwin tells , and it's up to you to connect the dots, and figure out what it all might mean.
9. Dreaming about dying
Death dreams do not imply a negative turn of events.
“Death in dreams is really about some kind of change or ending you're dealing with in your real life,” says Loewenberg.
“The subconscious will show us this change in the form of death so we can better understand the finality of it."
Death in dreams hold positive symbolism: it can mean inner changes, transformation, self-discovery, and development.
You are shedding yourself of old burdens and moving onto new beginnings.
