Vlogger Theodora Lee reveals how YOU can become Instafamous… with her seven tips you can start right now
Ever fancied becoming a social media star? Now you can with the help of blogger Theodora Lee
THEY say money can’t buy happiness, but let’s face it, most of us wouldn’t mind testing that theory, and I think the same goes for Insta-fame.
Although deep down we know “likes” aren’t everything, we can’t deny that fuzzy feeling those double-taps bring.
If you like the idea of becoming Insta-famous, or if you simply want to give your feed a makeover, here are some pointers to help you achieve your #instagoals.
Pick a theme
Whether it’s your love of fashion or obsession with vintage teacups - the more unique the better! - choose a theme that interests you and stick with it.
MOST READ IN LIVING
A theme makes it easier for like - minded people to find you and also gives your feed a clear direction.
Edit your images
Editing your photos outside of the Instagram app can increase the quality of your posts.
There are loads of cool photo editing apps that will make you feel like a pro. VSCO, Lightroom and Snapseed are popular and are free to use.
Spread your Insta-wings
To get yourself noticed, you need to put in the ground work.
Comment, like and interact with other Instagrammers and look out for feature opportunities and competitions to grow your
network and your credibility.
Make use of hashtags
Using hashtags will help you to get discovered.
However, avoid overloading your photos with hundreds of hashtags (you don’t want to seem too desperate!), and rather choose a few that best represent your photos and your personality.
Tell stories
It’s valuable to keep your followers entertained beyond the images themselves. Consider sharing a story, a quote or something educational to accompany your posts.
Don’t forget to use the story and live feature to give your followers a fun look behind the scenes. This will help your followers to connect with you.
Keep it regular
Posting regularly keeps your feed alive and your followers up-to- date. Once your followers are familiar with your posting schedule, they will more likely engage with you.
Be careful of over committing from the start, you don’t want to get to that stage where you’re trolling your phone gallery for something (anything!) to post. Stick to quality over quantity.
Stay inspired
The bookmark feature is a wonderful tool that allows you to save other people’s Instagram photos and can be used for inspiration.
Even though it’s tempting to mimic posts that are #goals, try to keep your posts unique and true to you. That way, you’re more likely to inspire others.
Above all, you need to like your photos too, because if you’re proud of your feed, then the numbers won’t matter as much. Take it from me, having a fairly large following isn’t everything.
If anything, it adds a certain pressure to the experience, which can sometimes get in the way of what the platform was created for: to have fun and to share those moments with others.
