The acid-tongued Irishman was known for his catty rows, cross dressing and heavy eyeliner - but he's changed his look dramatically since leaving the soap opera in 2010.

The student's most memorable storylines included an HIV scare and Kris' identity crisis, where he is forced to hide his homosexuality and clothes preferences from his brother Malachy.
He is noted as being the only permanent cross dressing character on a British soap.
Hollyoaks producer at the time, Bryan Kirkwood, described him as: "A cross between Pete Doherty, Pete Burns and Pete Bennett from Big Brother — a bit of a Boy George character."

37-year-old Gerard McCarthy was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Since leaving the popular soap, he starred in Bafta-nominated drama The Fall for three years, as well as appearing in Netflix show Titanic: Blood & Steel, and taking to the stage for Merry Wives of Windsor at Shakespeare's Globe.
Gerard also played Captain Shearing in 2014 film A Nightingale Falling.
He starred in TV series The Fall between 2013 and 2016, and featured in one episode of Vikings in 2013, and Puppy Love in 2014.
