Does your bra change size with washing and drying it over time? The dangerous effect wearing the wrong size bra can have on your boobs
Everyone should make sure they're wearing the right size to avoid the dreaded 'jiggle'
DO YOU feel perfectly packed in or do you suffer from the dreaded jiggly jugs?
The movement of your breasts when walking could reveal if you are wearing the right size bra and there could be serious consequences if you’re getting it wrong.
Do bras change size with washing and drying over time?
If you start to notice your bras getting a little looser a few months after purchasing, you're not just making it up.
Over-laundering your bra can loosen the elastic and make them less supportive.
In order to help keep its shape, use a gentle setting on the machine, and never tumble dry them.
Clasp the hooks before you put them in, and use a mesh bag wherever possible - this will avoid them snagging other clothes.
Dry them flat on a towel, as even hanging them up when wet can damage the elastic.
Also, if possible, give them a rest day in between each wear to avoid stressing the elastic
What happens if you're wearing the wrong size bra?
The most common UK size according to a 2017 survey is 36DD but one lingerie retailer questions this and has created a video to illustrate their point.
In the short clip (below) brand Curvy Kate illustrate the difference between a well fitted and poorly fitted bar.
They claim up to 95 per cent of women wear the wrong bra size - and the video shows the damage that could be causing.
Their expert team filmed a woman wearing two different bra sizes – a 38F and a 32H – walking on a treadmill with pink stickers on her chest to show the difference between the two.
The 38F bra clearly doesn’t provide enough support with the woman’s breasts moving around a lot as she walks.
The video explained: “Excessive movement can damage your boobs, so definitely make sure you’re wearing the right size.”
With 34F couldn't support the woman's breasts as well as the 32H bra.

Experts claim that too much motion in your breasts can lead to pain and potential long terms damage to the breast tissue.
Curvy Kate's bra expert Chantelle Crabb said: “It's widely reported that huge amounts of women are still in the wrong bra size, and we wanted a way to show how this can have a severe effect of women's breasts.
“The video seemed like a way for women to physically see what opting for the wrong bra size can do to their boobs.”
