Why can't I buy Primark products online?

Primark is known for causing a frenzy with must-have budget items like their infamous Chip mugs and purses.

These items always sell out quickly, meaning shopping trips can be fruitless, so why don't they sell online?

Unfortunately for customers, Primark chiefs have been quick to point out online shopping doesn't work at their rock bottom price point - and have ruled it out for the future.

John Bason, the finance chief at parent company Associated British Foods (ABF), previously told: "Look at a £2 T-shirt.

It's clickety-click but one third of clothes get returned.

"That means someone has to pick it up, someone has to deliver it, someone in the store has to take it back, refold it. It doesn’t work at the lower price point."

The company did launch a trial collaboration with Asos in 2013, but it was later dumped.

At the time, ABF chief executive George Weston said: "The margins are so small that it can be difficult to sell a £3 T-shirt when you’re spending the same amount just to ship it."

Where can I find out about new Primark products?

Primark is bigger than ever at the moment, partly thanks to a recent collaboration with Disney for Beauty And The Beast.

They're also selling summer must-haves like flamingo and unicorn pool floats, and lookalike versions of your favourite designer shoes and bags.

What's the history of Primark?

The first Primark was opened in Dublin in 1969, under the name Penneys.

Company bosses were forced to change the name for legal reasons in 1973, when Primark expanded into the UK.

The shop was trying to avoid legal action from US retailer J.C.Penney, and is known as Primark in 10 countries across Europe and America.

Remaining true to the brand, Ireland's 38 stores still operate under the original name.
