From Sharon Stone to Sam Thompson – which stars have used Bumble and everything you need to know about the dating app
MOVIE sex symbol Sharon Stone has revealed she was banned from using the online dating app Bumble because users didn't believe it was her.
The mum-of three and Basic Instinct star, 61, shared a screenshot of her profile which read 'You've been blocked'.
She tweeted: "I went on the @bumble dating sight (sic) and they closed my account.
“Some users reported that it couldn’t possibly be me!
Hey @bumble, is being me exclusionary? Don’t shut me out of the hive,” she added, with a bee emoji – the symbol of Bumble.
But while the actress hopes to get her profile reinstated, find out what other celebs you might find swiping amongst the 22million users...
Which celebrities use Bumble?
You would think that celebs would have no problem getting dates, but it seems they have been taken in by dating apps just like the rest of us.
Fans recently spotted Celebrity Big Brother's Chad Johnson on the app, despite being in a relationship with the Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding after his stint in the house.
The 30-year-old's profile shows he's listed as 'Chad, 30' and describes himself as an 'owner and partner' at his own company Chad Johnson LLC.
Made in Chelsea's Jamie Laing was spotted on Bumble following his split from cheating girlfriend Frankie Gaff.
His profile on the popular dating site, which allows users to match with potential partners in their area, shows Jamie larking around in the street.
It was a popular choice for fellow MIC star Sam Thompson too - who's had numerous stints on Celebs Go Dating too before hooking up with Zara McDermott.
If you're looking for the ladies though, TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher's also been known to have had a profile as well as former actress Danniella Westbook, 26, who goes under the name 'Dolly'.
For Cold Feet fans, John Thomson was spotted on the hook-up app Bumble.
The star, 50, split from wife of ten years Samantha in 2015.
He used an Iron Man quote for his profile, calling himself: “Teetotal, playboy, genius, millionaire (former, divorced) and philanthropist.”
The actor-comic’s photos included one of him in a pool, another where he is suited and booted, and a third of him grinning.
Before finding love and fame on Love Island, the show's winner Kem Cetinay and fellow contestant Dom Lever looked for romance and perfected their pouting profiles on Bumble.
But it's not just the UK's reality stars who've been trying to score while swiping.
US celebs including Riverdale star KJ Apa and YouTuber David Dobrik tried out the app.
What is the Bumble dating app?
Bumble is a dating app similar to Tinder, where daters can upload a small profile of pictures and swipe through potential suitors.
Daters can swipe right to 'like' a profile and left to reject it, two people who have "liked" each others profiles are deemed a match.
But the catch with Bumble is that only the female can make the first move and has to send the first message.
And if there is no message sent between the pair 24 hours after pairing up, the match is lost so speed is the name of the game!
The app is believed to have over 22million registered users with a large percentage of them under the age of 35.
Over 750million matches have been made on the app and it is claimed it is responsible for 5,000 weddings and engagements.
How does the Bumble dating app work?
To use Bumble you first have to download the app from your app store and create an account, which you can do through Facebook.
You can then chose pictures from your Facebook account to be included in your profile and you can also write a short bio about yourself.
The app then uses your location to scan for potential matches around you using your preferences on gender, age and how far away they are.
If you see a match you like, you swipe right, if you are not so keen you swipe left.
When you and another person both swipe right for each other, you match and then the female has 24 hours to make the first move and message.
If she doesn't the match is lost and you can no longer message each other.
Or even if she does message, if they guy doesn't reply within a day, the match also disappears forever.
