A FASHION blogger claims to live off tinned fish and spend just £15 A WEEK on food - so she can go on luxury holidays.
Bridie Wilkins, 23, says that she has adopted a prudent lifestyle so that she can jet off to five star hotels in exotic locations such as the Maldives and Mexico.
Bridie, who works for a fashion magazine, and lives in London, says she has cut back on her outgoings when it comes to food and commuting so she can go on extravagant holidays.
The frugal fashionista sticks to a diet dominated by tinned fish and vegetables and opts to walk rather than catch the Tube for travel.
And although she admits she was once a fan of big nights out, Bridie says they now seem a huge waste of money – money she’d rather spend on travel.
The travel addict now claims that her clever cost-cutting measures can see her save around £600 per month and she’s checked into dozens of luxury resorts across 19 countries.
The next few months for Bridie include visits to Copenhagen, Los Angeles and Mexico and some of her favourite places already travelled include Bali, Velassaru Island in the Maldives and Seiano on the Sorrento Peninsula in Italy.
Bridie adds that she spends just £15 on food each week, with the food she does buy being own-brand supermarket goods.
She told : “I don’t think twice about restricting my diet to things such as canned fish - if you love something as much as I do travelling, the sacrifices you make don’t even cross your mind.
“Travel has changed everything. I absolutely love seeing new parts of the world. It has made me into a more well-rounded person.”
She now hopes she can encourage others to follow in her footsteps, she added: “
In a bid to encourage others to follow in her footsteps, she concludes: 'You don't have to save for months - if you really want something, you can make it happen.
“I'd like to think sharing my experiences will inspire others to stop being complacent and take the leap.”
