MUMSNET has become the online forum where busy parents can vent their frustrations about everyday life.

From problems with the kids to advice on relationships, no topics seem to be off limit.

And Mumsnetters also appear to be a feisty lot and are never shy when it comes to voicing their opinions and having a good old debate.

Here we have rounded up the six posts on the forum that have sparked the most intense reaction.

SHELF HELP

Mums often take to the online forum to ask others for advice when it comes to relationships.

But one woman wasn't expecting a backlash when she asked if she was being unreasonable for refusing to date a man who works in a shop.

She explained: "I'm in my late twenties. I'm intelligent, have a career, earn above average and have my own house."

But the post led to the "snob" mum being slammed by hundreds of other Mumsnet users, starting a fiery debate on the message board.

And one even said: "You are ridiculously snobby. You know nothing about this man apart from his job title. Do this bloke a favour & decline a date." Ouch.

WAKE UP CALL

Mumsnet users very much believe that a problem shared is a problem halved - no matter how personal it is.

And one user revealed her anger after waking up to find her boyfriend pleasuring himself in bed next to her.

She said: "I had no idea how to react, I didn't want to embarrass him, and I genuinely didn't know whether to say anything.

"I don't really appreciate being woken up at 6.30 on a Saturday morning by the bed shaking and heavy breathing."

But other mums told her to get over herself and told her she was over-reacting.

One wrote: "You can complain about being woken up I suppose but not that he is pleasuring himself even though you think enough sexual activity is currently taking place."

WHAT IS HE TINKING?

Baby names are always a topic that most people have very strong feelings about.

And one mum on Mumsnet revealed that she was so angry that her friend called his daughter Tinkerbell, she joked she wanted to "shoot him".

She explained: "I feel so sorry for the poor kid. She's going to go through torture at school. Not to mention the rest of her life. Imagine a high court judge called Tinkerbell."

But other mums on the forum were disgusted with her comments, and told her there was nothing wrong with the name.

One wrote: "That's right, it's none of you business, she is not your daughter."

NEED TO NOSE

All parents worry about their children growing up and what path they will take in life.

But one mum was so concerned about her daughter's large nose, she asked Mumsnet if it was OK for her to start saving so the tot could have plastic surgery when she is older.

She wrote: "Am I being unreasonable to put some money aside each week incase she wants a nose job when she is older?"

But other mums were furious that the mum was even considering surgery for her infant daughter.

One even replied: "You want to start a cosmetic surgery fund for your baby? You realise that's bats**t, right?"

HOME ALONE

Working mums often speak about their guilt as they can't always be there to look after their little ones.

But one mum sparked outrage when she admitted that she leaves her 13 and ten-year-old kids at home for five weeks over the summer holidays.

She explained that she and her husband "have a week off together in summer but rest of the time the kids are on their own, all day, everyday for 6 wks (weeks).

But other parents were less than sympathetic, accusing her of abandoning them.

One mum told her: "Crikey yes definitely too young to be home alone."

WHAT THE FROCK

One of the perks of a newborn baby is getting to choose the adorable little outfits they wear till they are old enough to pick for themselves.

But one mum’s choice of tiny-tot fashion caused a stir on Mumsnet after she asked the forum if it was wrong for her to dress her baby boy in frocks.

She said: “I think dresses are lovely & as I don't follow this gender society c**p of girls wear dresses & pink & boys wear blue & trousers.....I don't see the issue in putting my DS in a dress.

But other mums were horrified and one even told her: "You don't put babies in dresses, ffs! You're just trying to make a point and sounding a bit daft."
