SURPRISE PARTY

Watch the heartwarming moment a CLIC Sargent volunteer is surprised by all the families she’s helped

After losing her daughter to cancer, Ann decided to become a volunteer for CLIC Sargent, and now her friends and family want to give something back to her. In association with Morrisons.

Ann's daughter, Molly-Ann, lost her battle with cancer on Christmas Day 2005, just before her fourth birthday.

Instead of surrendering to her grief, Ann vowed to help other parents going through a similar trauma.

Ten years ago Ann started work as a volunteer with children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent. She worked her way through the ranks to become a Home from Home Manager at CLIC House in Bristol, a residential home for children to live in with their parents while they are being treated at a nearby hospital.

Ann works tirelessly supporting every single parent who walks through the door – no matter what they're going through – and also runs a coffee morning to help parents whose children have recently passed away.

Ann has sacrificed the past ten years of her life to support those going through what she went through, and so her community thought it was time to give something back.

Watch the video below to see Ann – who thinks she is going to give an interview to a local newspaper – surprised with a party from her friends, family and colleagues, and our friends at Morrisons.

The room was full of people who wanted to tell Ann just how much her work has meant to them, and how deserving they think she is.

Sandra Riddiford says: "Ann deserves a special thank you for everything she's been through herself, and everything she does for other people." While Rosemary Barton says: "Ann, you are so worthy of this today."

Watch as Ann greets everyone in disbelief. She says that her time working with CLIC Sargent has been important to her and has "helped me as much as it has helped them."
