People are sharing things they regret most about their weddings…and letting their MOTHER get involved comes out on top

PEOPLE are sharing the biggest regrets about their weddings and it turns out plenty wish they hadn't let their mum get so involved.
Hundreds of people replied to the informative , responding to the question: "What is the one thing you regret most about your wedding?"
A huge number of responses cited parents - namely mothers - as the biggest issue on the couples' big day.
One person said: "My mother. She ruined it. Both my husband and I hated our wedding because she took over and did everything and then acted like she was doing us a wonderful favour.
"We didn't get to choose anything or do anything for it. I completely regret not putting my foot down and doing what I wanted."
It seems other mothers took things a step further, openly insisting it was a day for them to be celebrated.
Another Reddit user claimed: "My mom actually told me 'it's not about you!' And if the date wasn't a month away at that point, I would have called the whole thing off and eloped."
While another added: "My mom tried to tell me the whole wedding was about the bride and her mother. Um sorry are we getting married or am I marrying the groom?"
A fourth contributor said that their mum actually dictated the time for co-ordinated wedding party shots after the ceremony.
They explained: "She told us that if we spent more than fifteen minutes having photos taken, our guests would get bored waiting.
"So we literally had fifteen minutes for photos after the ceremony. We've been married for four years and I could still kick myself for listening to her about that."
Mothers weren't the only guests to drive couples potty, it seems guests and family members also managed to make an impact on some people's big days.
One woman said: "Allowing my sister in law to be a bridesmaid. She shouted at me and made me cry as I was putting my dress on."
And another claimed: "Had a person who didn't even send back the RSVP but instead texted saying they couldn't make it.
"Then they came to the ceremony unannounced (we had reception right after at same location) with their <1 year old baby, who was not invited (wedding was no kids) and stayed for cocktail hour, then left. Also, no gift."
Another person wished they had scrapped the majority of their guest list entirely.
They said: "Inviting 75% of the people. Most of them I never see and are not involved in our lives.
"Would have rather spent the same amount of money on 25% of the people and had one hell of a high-end party."
But for another commenter it wasn't the guests that they would change at all.
They said: "Focusing way too much on small details. Nobody cares what colour the napkins are.
"It was my wedding and I don't remember what f***ing colour they were. Get napkins, move on. No need to stress about that stuff."
