Who is James Crossley?
British gym buff James Crossley is best known for playing Hunter in Gladiators.
In 1999, he was named the Ultimate Gladiator after battling it out against his co-stars.
Viewers were shocked by his resilience on the programme, as the bodybuilder managed to continue fighting after dislocating his shoulder in the first round.
The actor stepped out of the spotlight as the 90s show stopped airing and is currently living in York.
What did James Crossley do after Gladiators?
After Gladiators stopped airing in the UK, the show was taken to South Africa.
Due to budget restrictions, the series didn't last long overseas.
During and after the programme was on our screens, Crossley hit the headlines after dating the show’s host Ulrika Jonsson.
The relationship was strongly denied until she finally came clean in her 2003 autobiography.
James also continued to pursue acting jobs, touring with plays including Shakespeare's As You Like It.

After dabbling with an acting career for a few years James has settled in to the sports industry like many of his former co-stars.
He is currently working as a fitness instructor and personal trainer.
James also runs his own successful consultancy business, Chelsea Fitness.

Gladiators was an ITV game show that ran from October 1992 to January 2000,
It had a brief revival on Sky 1 between 2008 and 2009.
The programme saw four contestants, two male and two female, compete in a series of physical events against the show's Gladiators, eventually competing in one final event, with contestants aiming to secure a place in the grand final and be crowned champion.
The show was presented by Ulrika Jonsson.
