The Blue Shiner

Avoid purple-toned blues around the eyes, or it can look like you’ve gone a few rounds with Anthony Joshua.
Instead choose a cool blue like Mac Chromagraphic Pencil in Hi-Def Cyan, £14.50.
Warm up the nib with a hairdryer to soften the product so it goes on more smoothly, then apply above and below your lashes.
Smudge with your fingers to blend into the skin.

The Blown-Up Bangs

For this “electrocuted” style, backcomb the front section of your hair at the root, then spray with Percy & Reed Surprisingly Strong Extra Hold Hairspray, £12, from root to tip.
Before the product dries, gently pull the section up and outwards with your palms.
For longer hair, bend the ends back to the crown and secure with a kirby grip.

The Bowl Cut

Put down your crockery – this ’60s-inspired cut is purely for the catwalk.
But if you’re tired of your usual layers, ask your stylist for a blunt ’ do with the back slightly longer, rather than a graduated length that will appear softer.

The Dreadlock Braids

Knotting your hair on purpose might sound daft, but this roughed-up princess style is one to try.
First add a texturising product to wet hair, like Bumble And Bumble Thickening Full Form Mousse, £23.
Dry with a diffuser if you don’t have a natural wave or curl.
Then plait, starting at the mid-lengths and pulled to the side, then tease it apart once you’ve secured the end with a band.

The Pink Eye Bags

This ethereal style might work for the catwalk, but pink worn alone under the eyes will never look good IRL.
Instead, take inspo by picking a pink hue for your highlight, like Givenchy Prisme Libre in Éclats De Rose, £39, and don’t be afraid to take the colour high up to your temples.
This will counteract the grey tones in eye bags and instantly brighten your skin.

The Devil Eyes

Don’t panic – red can be surprisingly flattering around the eyes.
Not only will it make the whites appear brighter, it will also contrast with blue or green eyes to make them pop, and add warmth to brown.
Shake up your staple smoky by adding a fiery hue from MUA Pro Eyeshadow Palette in Fire Vixen, £5, into the middle of your eyelid.
Then dot some gold in the inner corners for a devilish glint.

The Metal Lip

There’s no need to damage your pout with a full-on piercing.
Just fake it with a single line down the middle of your bottom lip using Urban Decay Vice Special Effects Long-Lasting Water Resistant Lip Topcoat in Seether, £15.50.
It can also be worn all over to create a 3D metallic finish.
