New research suggests that those who mention FOOD on their online dating profiles are more likely to receive messages from potential suitors.
Forget witty anecdotes or perfect spelling and grammar, it’s what we are noshing on that gets the top likes and interaction.
People who describe themselves as ‘foodies’ and wax lyrical about cooking and dining out seemingly provide more of a talking point than those who opt for other subjects in their bios.
In fact, those whose bio’s mention the word ‘cook’ receive 26% more messages, - who studied almost 4 MILLION dating profiles as part of their research.
Even the type of food you include can land you with varying degrees of success – so be mindful of what you mention.
The foods to mention that will increase your chances of a message

2. Potatoes – 101%
3. Chocolate – 100%
4. Salad – 97%
5. Sushi – 93%
6. Avocado – 91%
7. Pasta – 75%
8. Cheese – 75%
9. Cake – 72%
10. Burger – 68%
The top picks include guacamole, burgers and cheese.
However, pick the wrong type of food and you could have a negative impact on your chances – somehow the survey concluded that mentioning yams (as you do) decreases your chances by 21%.
