Disney World’s top secrets revealed: From ashes being scattered on rides to The Beatles breaking up at the resort
IT’S the happiest place on earth that is visited by over 20million people each year.
But despite it being one of the most photographed attractions, Walt Disney World in Florida still has its fair share of secrets… and many may surprise you.
Did you know, for example, the Beatles signed the documents that officially broke up the group while staying at Disney World’s Polynesian Resort in 1974.
And have you heard that the scent of freshly-baked cookies used to be pumped onto Main Street, but was later ditched as the scent was deemed "too artificial"?
There are also rumours of people attempting to spread the ashes of the deceased on Disney rides every year, although no one has been caught.
Meanwhile in the Animal Kingdom, there is said to be piped chilled air on the ledge of Pride Rock to encourage lions to sit up and pose for the perfect picture opportunity.
Thankfully Disney doesn't have to worry about electricity bills as it has its own power plant which lights up the 150 tractor trailer-loads of decorations for its Christmas holiday celebrations.
