Why did the Fire Brigade slam DanTDM?

In January 2017 the London Fire Brigade condemned DanTDM for an “incredibly dangerous” stunt in which he set fire to a children’s toy with a blowtorch.

Firefighters are not happy with an which notched up more than 5.2million views since it was published on January 14.

In it, the award-winning YouTuber could be seen setting fire to a pink toy penguin with a mini-blowtorch.

The 25-year-old told viewers: “Today I want to try something a little bit crazy. I’m going to give (the toy) a haircut … I’m going to give him a haircut with fire.”

“I just wanna set him on fire, so will you just give me this please?”

Dan's segment also included shots of him exploring different blowtorch clips online and offering excited commentary.

“Obviously, this is a really, really dumb thing to do,” he later added, before warning messages appeared on screen telling viewers not to try the stunt at home.

The London Fire Brigade  slammed the gamer’s actions as “irresponsible and thoughtless” and called for Dan to take down the footage.

Fire investigation team chief Charlie Pugsley said: “We 100% condemn this reckless behaviour and would urge the YouTube vlogger to remove the clip immediately as it may inspire ‘copycat’ incidents which may go tragically wrong."
