Former escort Samantha X says working in the sex industry doesn’t make a her bad mother

A FORMER call girl has hit back on social media, claiming being a sex worker doesn’t make her a bad mother.

Samantha X, 43, a former journalist and best-selling author, who grew up in London and now lives in Sydney, Australia, has two children with ex-husband David Basha, a banker.

She wrote on Twitter and Instagram: “To any woman out there who thinks their job as a stripper/sex worker/dancer/porn star makes you a 'bad mother' - NO.

“Abusing and killing your kids makes you a bad mother. Not providing for them.”

Samantha X, also known as Amanda Goff and now dating actor Ryan Phelan, 42, told in September 2014 how boredom at work led to her transition from a divorced mum to a highly paid escort.

She wrote in book, Hooked – Secrets of a High Class Escort, how she would stare out the window of her Sydney office at “the grey buildings” and “fantasise about drinking champagne in a hotel room with a man”.

One day, she decided to visit a bordello on her lunch break.

Two days later she was having sex for money.

Her experience of post-divorce dating disasters and romantic “let-downs” also contributed to her decision to become a sex worker, she said at the time.

But just last month, Samantha X announced she was quitting the escort business.

She also revealed she was quitting her job to focus on running her escort agency, Samantha X Angels, which she started up in 2015.

Samantha X handpicked 12 women from hundreds of applicants around Australia and has coached and educated them in what makes “a true courtesan”.

She admitted most of the women have never worked in the industry before and come from professional backgrounds, from finance to teaching, and are aged 25 to 61.
