GIVEN he did the honours at his brother's marriage to Kate Middleton, you'd think Prince Harry would return the favour.

But it turns out Prince William might not be the person in line for best man on the big day on May 19 - because Prince Harry hasn't asked him yet.

The Duke of Cambridge made the amusing admission during an interview with former Manchester United footballer Rio Ferdinand.

The future king was visiting staff, volunteers and supporters of Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a charity dedicated to preventing male suicide, in London yesterday to lend his support to their "Best Man Project";.

But he admitted he might not be playing the vital role when his brother walks down the aisle.

Rio joked that he's faced with a big decision on the day as to whether to attend the FA Cup Final at Wembley or the event at Windsor Castle.

The Prince replied: "You've touched on something there Rio.

"I'm still working it out. I'll see what I can do."

One of the men in the circle then pointed out that it was apt for Wills to be talking about "a best man project" - to which the prince cut in: "He hasn't asked me yet," adding: "It could be a sensitive issue."

In December boxing hero Anthony Joshua offered to be Prince Harry’s best man while guest editing Radio 4's the Today Programme.

Could Wills have some competition?

Last year we told how Prince William CAN'T be Harry’s best man and Meghan Markle’s friends won’t be her bridesmaids… unless they tear up the Royal rule book.

Tradition dictates that there is never a best man at a Royal wedding, so Will was breaking this rule himself when he asked Harry to be his best man.
