MENOPAUSAL women should get similar office rights to pregnant workers, a top female health expert says.
Professor Myra Hunter said the process is a “taboo issue” and there is not enough awareness in the workplace.
She conducted a study of 124 women struggling with the menopause.
Half were given a book on how to challenge workers’ negative views. They were also asked to write down their thoughts during hot flushes.

The intervention led to 82 per cent experiencing reduced symptoms, .
Professor Hunter, from King’s College London, said: “Women do not want to be treated as ill, they just want some understanding and awareness of it.”
