Size 24 mum kicks daily loaf of bread and biscuit habit to drop TEN STONE
A MUM is relishing dressing like she wished she could in her twenties - after finally beating her monstrous BREAD habit and shedding ten stone.
Jane Auguste, 51, would often wolf down thirteen slices of bread as part of a carb-heavy menu that saw her consume 4,000 calories a day.
The learning support assistant, who reached size 24 at her biggest, would gobble up seven slices of buttery toast for breakfast and have three sandwiches for lunch - plus four packets of crisps plus an entire pack of biscuits every day.
She said: "I was in denial. If there was food there I would eat it. I was always out of breath, sweating and tired all the time. I didn't want to go out.
"As I work in a school, it is always somebody's birthday so there would be things like chocolate and cake there.
"I would secretly go and eat them and then go back in and pretend I hadn't already eaten them so that I could have more.
"I would get home in the afternoon and eat biscuits without anybody knowing and then have dinner. It was like if no one saw me do it then I hadn't eaten it. There was no control over it."
The teaching assistant, from Romford in Essex, admitted to struggling with her weight her entire life and was teased at school.
Her insecurities followed her through adulthood, and she admitted she didn't enjoy going out and socialising because she felt embarrassed.
She said: "I would act loud and over the top to make myself feel better but I felt absolutely horrific.
"People would look and stare at me. One of the worst things about going out would be when I had the 'fat bird' comment. I have always struggled with my weight.
"I have always loved clothes and now I can enjoy going anywhere and buying anything. It is almost like I've been living the life I should have been having in my twenties.
"It makes me sad because I missed out on it before but I would have never had this feeling if I didn't lose the weight. I am able to go out without being ridiculed.
"I can't believe I was like that for the majority of my life. There is no going back. I know now that I don't want to feel like that again."
However, when a consultant warned her mum Ann Turner, 79, in May 2016 that her weight was causing damage to her knee after having a hip replacement, Jane decided they both needed to make a change.
Ann, Jane and her daughter Elena Turner-Thorne, 21, all joined Slimming World together in May 2016 - and in July 2017 Jane reached her target weight of 11st 10lbs after ditching her 4,000 calories a day habit.
Jane had already began cutting down on fatty foods in 2014 and had shed four stone before joining Slimming World, where she lost an additional six stone.
She now wears a size 12, mum Ann has lost four stone and Elena has lost three and a half stone.
Jane said: "It is nice that we've done it together. I enjoy getting ready to go out now. I would dread it before. It is an amazing feeling. I've never worn leather trousers before.
"It is just unbelievable. I really wish I could bottle up this feeling. There is nothing better. Nothing can top it. I think people think I'm a bit evangelical about it.
"I think the way my life has changed is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I've had some people walk past me because they didn't know it was me. They can't believe I am the same person.
"Some people have also said how much younger I looked now. I can't believe people think that.
"My mum's knee is a lot better now. She's got a stone to go before she hits her target. She has been overweight most of her life."
Jane added that going to the weekly meetings even helped her finally kick her addiction to bread.
She said: "Slimming World is great because you can eat so much but I don't eat bread now.
"I don't even think about it now. We were going through a tub of butter a week before."
