What did Meghan Markle wear for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday bash?

Newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stole the show at Prince Charles' 70th birthday bash on May 22.

The American actress looked regal in a cream hat and matching outfit at her first event as a royal - but made sure to keep her new husband close throughout the afternoon.

The new Duchess of Sussex, wearing a dress by Goat and hat by Philip Treacy, appeared in high spirits as she smiled and chatted with guests at the Buckingham Palace garden party.

The Flavia silk-crepe pencil dress is a "rose-pink taupe" despite looking suspiciously bridal in the bright afternoon sun. It costs £590 from .

What did Meghan Markle wear at the Royal Wedding?

Meghan Markle stunned onlookers as she arrived at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, ahead of her nuptials to Prince Harry, in a stunning bespoke gown by Givenchy, created by British designer Clare Waight Keller.

The lines of the dress extended towards the back where the train flowed in soft round folds cushioned by an underskirt in triple silk organza, and the slim three-quarter sleeves added a note of refined modernity.

In the evening of the Royal Wedding, Meghan revealed her second stunning look of the day - a halter-neck sleeveless fishtail dress by Stella McCartney.

The new Duchess of Sussex opted for an elegant figure-skimming full-length gown for the evening reception at Frogmore House.

What is Meghan Markle's style?

As Harry and Meghan announced their engagement in November, the actress' coats have been a key staple of her royal outings.

They tend to be knee-length, often with a waist tie and a statement open collar.

The Queen is thought to have a strict 'no knees' policy when it comes to royal engagements, meaning Meghan has had to ditch her mini skirts for longer, more demure styles.

But that doesn't mean it's all tights and dresses from now on, with Meghan still wearing trousers, jeans and even bare legs for her official engagement announcement.

Despite the guidelines, Meghan manages to have fun with her style and mix things up - wearing a range of Canadian, American, British and even Welsh designers for a visit to Cardiff.

She's also a fan of heeled boots and has worn them in both ankle-length and over-the-knee styles.

What are Meghan Markle's most memorable outfits?

Meghan gave a nod to her friend Misha Nonoo, who is thought to have played matchmaker between her and Harry, by wearing her line to the Invictus Games opening ceremony in September 2017.

It was the couple's first public outing together - and Meghan wore the designer's £137 Husband shirt, paired with brown pumps, a matching tote bag, and jeans which ripped at the knees.

Meghan's coats always complete her elegant looks, and she often pairs them with a simple scarf.

Her camel coat on Christmas Day was finished with brown gloves, boots, and a circular handbag.
