How Love Island’s Montana Brown became the style queen every woman wants to dress like

The reality TV star impressed at last night's NTAs in a floor-length white gown

LAST night’s National Television Awards was full to the brim with beautifully dressed guests, but it was Love Island’s Montana Rose Brown who dazzled the red carpet critics.

Montana, 21, whose daytime wardrobe includes mini dresses and cool trouser suits, decided on a chic white gown for the event.

Montana's dress was made by UK party-wear brand Abyss by Abby, and featured embellishments and cut-outs.

She teamed her look with a heels and a chain detail handbag.

Montana’s look was a far-cry from her Love Island days, and her style just keeps getting better and better.

Here we plot her journey from serial bikini-wearer to style star in-the-making...

In the villa

During the show, Montana proved herself a style force to be reckoned with.

Montana’s daytime uniform was made up of bikinis, sandals and errr, more bikinis. But when came to vote nights, Montana debuted a series of gorgeous figure-hugging dresses and sexy bralettes.

It wasn’t long before female fans were on Twitter scrambling to find out where Montana got her wares.

The sold out items

Research by global fashion search platform Lyst found that Montana was the biggest fashion influencer of all the female cast.

Data collected during the show revealed that searches for ‘thong swimwear’ (a Montana favourtite) had increased by 120 per cent.

A Missy Empire dress Montana had worn sparked 1,800 searches.

And Montana’s Jaded London Aztec print swimsuit SOLD OUT soon after she wore it.

Insta-fame

With a 2.9million viewer audience watching Love Island, you can bet Montana’s social media following began to rocket, and with it so did her influence.

Before long, followers in the millions were ‘tapping for brand’ on Montana’s beautifully crafted OOTD pics.

The deals begin to roll in

Perhaps the greatest proof of Montana's style status came after leaving the villa when she was asked to join forces with PrettyLittleThing.

Announcing the collaboration back in September, Montana wrote: " Still can't believe this has happened.

"Can't wait for you to see all the outfits 🙈😘"

Her collection featured glitzy mini dresses, racy tops and cut-out one-pieces.

New-found style savvy

With Love Island fame comes a lot of fancy invites - be it award ceremonies, launches or starry parties - meaning Montana’s wardrobe of bikinis and sandals needed a revamp.

Her slew of RSVPs have seen Montana rock a new wardrobe of sophisticated gowns, chic blazer dresses and fashion-forward two pieces.

Montana might have worn white, but gold seemed to be the colour consensus at last night's NTAs.

Holly Willoughby gave Montana a run for her money for the best outfit of the night in this yellow and blue pastel gown.

It's not the first time Holly grabbed NTA headlines for her style, but her past looks have featured far more black.
