Mum-to-be slated for plans to get fake tan and eyelash extensions to give birth… so where do YOU stand?
Some wondered why the pregnant woman needed to get 'nightclub ready' before going into labour
A PREGNANT woman has been slated for her plans to get fake tan and eyelash extensions done before giving birth - so where do YOU stand?
Tami_T98 made the revelation on - and said she also plans to rock a full face of make-up, and get her hair styled before going into labour.
Tami wrote: "A few of my family members think I’m absolutely mad for wanting my makeup, tan lashes and hair done for giving birth.
"I’m due to be induced on Tuesday I just wanted to see what you lovely ladies thought on the matter".
And Tami has divided opinion, with some criticising her for getting 'nightclub ready' for childbirth.
Katie D wrote: "Yes I think you are mad. I am with your family on this. You are going to be giving birth not strutting your stuff in a nightclub".
While Lui L said: "No amount of tarting yourself up is going to make up for the fact that you’re about to crap yourself in front of a room full of strangers."
And Alex3011 warned: "By the time you have gone through your labour and delivered your baby not only will you not care what you look like but you will be hot, sweaty, you're makeup will be smudged, hair everywhere and probably have your lashes stuck half way down your face...
"Knowing how long and exhausting it can be I just don't think it is worth it. You may end up looking worse than you would if you just went natural in those first photos."
Kali C, meanwhile, commented: "I think your mad, near my due date I could barely be ***** to brush my hair let alone all that faff. Waste of time, energy and money to me".
And Jessica W said: "I personally wouldn’t bother. You will get so sweaty in labour.
"I had to tie my hair up I was so hot and all my makeup was smudgy. You get covered in blood (and possibly other things too!)"
But others felt glam was the only way to go during labour.
Professional make-up artist Alaha Majid, from New York, gave herself a full face of make-up from her hospital bed, as she applied her slap between contractions back in February 2016.
Posting on Instagram, she explained: "Yes, I was doing my makeup while I was in labour!
"I was pausing during contractions and picking up where I left off once the contractions passed."
MORE MUMSNET DEBATES
While, responding to Tami, Netmums user Flora123 wrote: "Nothing wrong with that at all! ...
"I had a planned section last year and did my tan etc! The nurses were laughing saying I looked glam lol!
"Pregnant again and come May I’ll be getting dolled up for my next section too!"
Becky K agreed, writing: "I had hair, nails etc.. all done before I had my baby.
"Just made me feel better and I’d do it again. And when your heavily pregnant why not pamper yourself you deserve it".
Another mum sparked a huge debate yesterday - after asking if headbands on babies were "chavvy".
While this woman caused controversy by asking what "stay at home mums do all day"… so do YOU think she was out of line?
