Calvin Klein’s firefighter-inspired show heats up New York Fashion Week with high-vis orange macs, woolly balaclavas and silver-foil dresses
Creative director Raf Simons paid tribute to emergency service heroes with his sizzling new collection
KATE Moss, Millie Bobby Brown and Kendall Jenner have all had the coveted role of Calvin Klein muse.
But the luxury US fashion giant - famed for its bold logo T-shirts and underwear - has looked to an unlikely place for inspiration for its Autumn/Winter 18 collection: the fire brigade.
Models heated up the New York Fashion Week runway yesterday in high-vis orange padded macs, hand-woven woolly balaclavas and silver-foil dresses.
Calvin Klein creative director Raf Simons paid tribute to emergency service heroes with his Survival Chic showcase, which was held at the American Stock Exchange.
The bleak set looked like the site of a nuclear fallout. A giant timber structure resembled a ruined building, while popcorn littered the floor like debris.
A model lit up the presentation in a tangerine jumpsuit that featured reflective stripes, chest pockets and white plastic trousers.
Her face peeked out from an ivory balaclava.
Another looked like she had been wrapped up in a silver-foil blanket in her metallic A-line dress, which had a fraying hemline.
Heavy-duty silver gloves, space-age boots and cat-eye sunglasses completed the look.
Meanwhile, a male muse looked ready to leap into a burning building in his protective orange all-in-one and thigh-high heavy-soled rubber boots.
