Primark and Poundland have Facebook showdown over ultra-cheap jeans
The budget brands are battling over who has the cheapest denims
PRIMARK prides itself on its budget fashion range but it seems a cheaper rival is trying to get one over on the brand.
The high street chain has been having a Facebook spat with Poundland over who is selling the cheapest pair of jeans.
It started as the pound store launched its Pep & Co clothing, and boasted on Facebook that its jeans cost a fiver.
They compared the low price denims to Primark, whose jeggings were priced at £6.
Primark weren’t having that – and posted a picture of the jeggings with a price tag of £4.50 with the caption “awkward.”
But Poundland responded by saying Primark had slashed the price of their denims in a bid to beat Pep & Co’s price – and hinted they could match the price.

They wrote: “Seems awkward you had to move from £6 to £4.50…Watch this space Primark.”
Whether Poundland will cut the price of their own jeans again remains to be seen but The Sun Online has contacted both stores for comment.
Last month, Poundland revealed it would open 150 more Pep & Co stores in the UK.
Yesterday, Primark unveiled a throwback Nickelodeon jumper for £8 which fans went wild for.
