STICK THIN

Missguided’s new ‘body-positive’ mannequins have caused a stir… but people are pointing out their one big mistake

The new mannequins have freckles or even vitiligo - but people have noticed that they're all standard size... and that's THIN

MISSGUIDED'S new 'body positive' mannequins have come under fire for being too THIN.

The plastic women have freckles, stretch marks and even vitiligo, but people have called out the fashion brand for basically taking a standard size mannequin and painting it.

Miffed customer MariaFancyPants : "show me some mannequins with a hook nose, or thin lips, or a pear shaped, plus size body with cellulite that doesn't look like cute painted on tattoos and then we can talk about you being considered body positive."

Shopper Aria : "The mannequins are all slim, thin and size 8."

Another said: "Great to see Missguided have got mannequins with freckles, stretchmarks [sic] etc but how about some which aren't a size 0 now."

Kimberley Wardle shared a similar opinion, posting: "Hooray-a brand that finally recognises that all woman have different ethnic backgrounds, body issues and flaws. Check out the @Missguided mannequins (Shame they haven't shown different shapes and sizes though!)"

The mannequins are part of MissGuided's #makeyourmark campaign, which champions for positive self image, has previously featured models with stretch marks on their website.

The high street brand has had the mannequins especially made with the help of in-house make-up artists.

The mannequins will be exhibited in the brand's two stores in London's Westfield Stratford City and Bluewater Shopping Centre.

The ongoing campaign first launched in December 2017 and features un-retouched models, body-activists and bloggers.

Representatives for Missguided have been approached for comment.
