The post, which has to date been retweeted 113 times, shows the actress publicly declaring her weight.

"I weigh: lovely relationships, great friends, I laugh every day, I love my job, I make an honest living, I'm financially independent, I speak out for women's right, I like my bingo wings, I like myself in spite of EVERYTHING I've been taught by the media to hate myself about f***ing KK," Jameela wrote alongside a selfie.

Jameela also invited other women to do the same.

"I've shown you mine, now show me what you weigh," she said.

Subsequently, hundreds of women responded by also posting similar photos.

"I weigh: a loving marriage, amazing friends, a supportive family, 2 spirited nieces, incredible neighbours, brilliant colleagues.

"I make a living doing what I love. I am a feminist. I am a writer, wife, daughter, friend, nerd, movie lover and activist.

"I like me, and make no apologies. MY KG," posted one user.

Another captioned her photo with, "I'm a doctor, and the least interesting thing about me is the number on the scales."

The user then continued: "I weigh: an Oxford degree, a medical degree, the lives I've saved, the medical students I have inspired."

Jameela's post has initiated a body positive trend with many like minded women garnishing support from others as they weigh in.

One user responded to Jameela's initial post by commenting, "Let's all do this. A brilliant response!"

The user then continued: "I weigh: my love for my friends and family, my need to learn new things, my love of stories...creating them, experiencing them, my fascination with female storytellers, my silliness, my badassery, my drive, my inner geek."

While other users didn't respond with a weighing in photo, they were quick to highlight their support.

One twitter user answered Jameela's plea for photos with: "Every day fabulous - you count, not your weight."

The Good Place Star who describes herself on Instagram as "Mr Bean with boobs", recently uploaded a short video of herself jumping jubilantly on the couch.

The caption to the video read:"The way 'I weigh' has been responded to over the past 24 hours has made me feel so excited about the revolution against shame.

"Thank you all for taking it and running with it so beautifully.

"THIS IS HOW WE SHOULD BE."

In the post on Instagram, she is adamant that "absurd body and beauty standards were created to hold women back."

She continues to exclaim that women should "be bold. Be different. Be proud. Sleep more, worry less, spend less money on 'fixing' your appearance and more money on feeding your happiness."
