A MUM has shared a very honest post-birth picture revealing her C-section tummy, reminding women that it is "OK to not be perfect”.

Emily Marson, 19, from Telford, gave birth to twin boys Arthur and Finlay in November 2017, and proudly showed off her stretch marks, scar and wrinkled skin on Instagram.

While some mums feel the pressure to bounce back to their pre-baby body, Emily urged women that they should embrace themselves as they are.

She captioned the powerful picture saying: “Our bodies go through a lot, a lot of change and your body is put through an enormous amount and I am so proud of myself that I carried such beautiful children and gave them food, warmth and most importantly all the love that I never thought I had.

“Your stretch marks DO NOT define you, your scar DOES NOT define you, your flab DOES NOT define you.

“You are incredible, you are a mother and you are the light of your babies eyes.”

She revealed that her pregnancy wasn’t an easy ride and she spent time in hospital suffering from dehydration and early contractions.

Now, at four months post-partum, she has finally started to accept her new body.

Emily ended the post by saying that she wanted to share the candid picture to show the reality of her body after the twins.

She said: “It’s OK to not be perfect because in their eyes you are exactly that.”

Her post struck a chord with mums, who were quick to comment in support.
