Remember Charlie from the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory film? Here’s what he looks like now
IF we're honest we all agree that nothing - not even Johnny Depp - beats the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory films.
The 70s style outfits and psychedelic sets are made all the more real by the lack of special effects. Plus, you know, Gene Wilder.
Cast your mind back - do you remember the wide-eyed blonde boy who starred as down-on-his-luck Charlie?
Well that little boy was played by actor Dr Peter Ostrum... never heard of him? Us neither.
That's probably because he never acted again after his 1971 debut in the Roald Dahl classic.
Despite loving filming with Gene Wilder - who played Mr Wonka - Peter decided showbiz wasn't for him.
"I can remember the veterinarian coming out and taking care of the horses, and it made a huge impression on me.
"This person really enjoyed what he did for a living. My father was a lawyer, and I really didn't have a clue what he did all day.
"But I knew exactly what the veterinarian did. Someone making a living from something he enjoyed so much really sparked my interest."
After his interview Dr Peter refused to give interviews about his time in the limelight for a while, even claiming it was his brother who had acted in the film for a while to avoid the spotlight.
But these days he's less strict about it and now speaks regularly for Lowville Academy students on graduation day, about Willy Wonka and probably all the Umpalumpas.
Remember Mike Teavee from Willy Wonka? You won’t believe what actor Paris Themmen looks like now.
Plus do you remember the girl who played Violet Beauregarde in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory? Here’s what she looks like now.
Plus remember Corrie’s Jamie Baldwin? Here’s what he looks like now – and he’s HOT.
