Who is Anjula Mutanda? Psychologist, life coach and former This Morning resident psychologist

The mum-of-one was born in Uganda and got her big break on Big Brother, when she was six months pregnant

SHE'S one of the nation's top celebrity psychologists, who's given her expert opinion on shows like Big Brother and This Morning.

But who is Anjula Mutanda, and what else do we know about her? Here's the lowdown...

Who is Anjula Mutanda?

Anjula was born in Uganda to a Catholic, Ugandan dad, who was a politician, and an Indian, Hindu mum.

She previously told her "parents had a very dramatic, volatile marriage".

The TV therapist moved to Britain with her mum in the late 70s, after her dad died from a stroke.

She added: "We had to flee the country. She was allowed to leave the country, but I wasn’t.

"We arrived in the UK with the clothes on our backs and one suitcase! It’s only when I look back I realise what a traumatic time of my life it was."

Anjula now works as a consultant media broadcaster, psychotherapist, relationship psychologist, celebrity therapist, mental health campaigner, writer and columnist.

She has a degree from the prestigious Durham University.

Where do I recognise Anjula Mutanda from?

Anjula's first ever TV job was in Big Brother, when she was six months pregnant and had just given up her job in the City of London.

She says she didn't know anything about the popular reality show before joining, but absolutely loved the experience.

Anjula joined This Morning as a resident psychologist in 2003, and still appears on the show giving expert advice.

You may also recognise her from Loose Women, BBC Breakfast, Daybreak, The Wright Stuff and Sky News - as well as Sky, Channel 5 and Discovery TLC documentaries.

Anjula has written for The Sun, The Times, The Mirror, Daily Express, The Guardian, Cosmopolitan, Grazia and more.

Her self-help book, Celebrity Life Laundry, was published in 2007. Anjula is married with a teenage daughter.
