MAKING HER MARK

The secret signal Meghan Markle is giving off with her handbag choice… and Harry better watch out

TODAY future royal Meghan Markle looked stunning as she stepped out at the Commonwealth Youth Forum wearing a pin-striped dress.

She paired the dress with an incredible black and cream bag - and she appeared to be sending a subtle message with the way she was wearing it.

Body language expert Kathlyn Hendricks revealed that the Suits actress, 36, wearing the bag by her side could reinforce her image as being self-sufficient.

Kathlyn told : “Pair the carry with a wide stride and loose limbs and you find ‘an urban warrior with a clear goal'.

“The bag is incidental to her independent self-image, flung on for its functionality."

The princess-in-waiting turned heads in a gorgeous £1,400 cream striped midi dress and Avalon Zip Top Crossbody Bag, in black-and-cream, which .

Meghan also donned a  when she visited Scotland back in February - which sold out within minutes as royal fans rushed to get their mitts on one.

The bag was handy because it meant Meghan was free to shake hands with the crowds, and accept gifts from cute kids - while it matched her tartan jacket perfectly.

But it's this move which stands the Suits actress apart from other royals.

You may have noticed that Kate Middleton tends to opt for a clutch bag, while the Queen favours a small black Laurner handbag - both of which can be clutched in two hands.

According to royal insiders, the reason Kate does this is to avoid awkward encounters with people who may try to shake her hand.
Beaumont Etiquette expert Myka Meier : "When the Duchess is at an event, she holds her bag in front of her in both hands when shaking hands might be awkward.

"Or she can place it in one hand to have the other free. It never gets tucked under an arm or placed on the ground or table."

Prince Harry and the American star, who will marry in Windsor on May 19, were being introduced to around 40 of the 500 young leaders taking part in the Forum's sessions.

Before arriving at the event, Harry has said the former Suits actress is "hugely excited" to be joining him in his Commonwealth duties.

From selfies, to voting and going out alone - these are the things Meghan Markle will be banned from doing when she marries Prince Harry.
