How Prince Harry and Meghan’s kiss compares to Kate and William’s, according to body language expert Judi James

IT was the moment we'd all been waiting for (once we'd seen the dress, that is).

At just after 1pm today, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry delighted onlookers as they sealed their marriage with a kiss on the steps of St George's Chapel.

But how did theirs compare to Prince William and Kate Middleton's famous balcony smooch?

Both were pretty brief, but clearly demonstrated the genuine affection between the loved-up couples.

Body language expert Judi James suggested that Meghan had applied "her Hollywood expertise" to the choreography of their "speedy" smacker.

"Instead of delaying the big moment, which can cause clumsiness or nerves, they kissed as soon as they appeared," she said.

"Meghan murmured to him to lead the moment, and Harry seemed to have used a screen tip as he placed a tender, even-handed kiss on her lips.

"He kissed towards her lower lip, which can help avoid crucial lipgloss-smudging."

Meanwhile, Wills and Kate was more perfunctory.

Judi explained: "They managed theirs in the same careful, perfect and slightly traditional way that their entire wedding was performed.

"There were no hidden signals or status imbalance, but little passion either from a couple who show their love subtly in public with little in the way of displays of touch."

Smitten Harry told his blushing bride "you look amazing" as the couple tied the knot in front of a star-studded crowd.

Meghan wore a stunning off-the-shoulder Givenchy Haute Couture dress and a dazzling 1932 dazzling Mary Diamond Bandeau tiara lent to her by the Queen.

The bride also wore a stunning five metre long veil, decorated with hand-embroidered flowers representing all 53 countries of the Commonwealth - a design detail requested by Meghan herself.
