And it seemed the rest of the country did, too - the piece sold out within hours.
But why does the Duchess of Sussex wear brands like M&S when just weeks before she dressed in a Ralph & Russo couture gown (priced at £56,000) for her and Harry's engagement photos?
According to celebrity stylist Rochelle White, wearing an accessible brand is the perfect way for Meghan, 36, to be approachable.
"Being seen wearing a brand that everyone can pretty much buy is a great way for her be relatable," Rochelle told the .
"M&S is a quintessential British brand, it is iconic.
"I think Megan is really trying to embrace her new surroundings and be seen in British Brands to show that she's open to new things."

Could Meghan be wearing M&S because she simply wants to embrace her new life in the UK?
With the brand epitomising the British high street - there's no better choice.
London-based celebrity stylist and image consultant JP, isn't surprised.
"M&S is an institution for us Brits just like our Royal Family - always there and always ready to show us a good outfit with a strong afternoon tea on the side.

"So it's no surprise that the Duchess Of Sussex is having a fan girl moment," JP tells the .
While Meghan is fond of the brand, it seems the feeling is mutual.
