Prince George’s cutest moments as he turns five… from his first ever public appearance to playing with the Obamas
To celebrate his fifth birthday, here are Prince George's most adorable moments to date...
FROM his many Buckingham Palace appearances to the time he met Barack Obama in his dressing gown, Prince George is one of the world’s most adorable (and famous) tots.
To celebrate his upcoming birthday this Sunday – seriously, how is Prince George already turning five? – we’ve collected his most adorable moments to date.
Prince George's world debut - July 2013
Just hours after he arrived into the world, Prince George made his first public appearance on the steps of the St Mary's Hospital's Lindo Wing on 22 July 2013.
Bundled up in a white blanket, the little Prince was cradled by his proud parents as he was introduced to the media and adoring crowds who had awaited his arrival.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge only stayed at the hospital for another 24 hours after the birth of their first son and travelled back to their home in Kensington Palace.
After this, we had to wait another six months before seeing the Prince again as the young Royals settled into life as a family of three.
Prince George's christening - October 2013
In October 2013, Prince George was christened at St James's Palace's Chapel Royal in Westminster wearing a replica of a gown commissioned by Queen Victoria.
Also baptised using the lavish Lily Font, Prince George was appointed seven godparents including Prince William's cousin Zara Tindall.
Australia and New Zealand Tour - April 2014
At just 10 months old, Prince George and his parents jetted off to Australia on their first Royal Tour as a family.
The adorable tot captured hearts the world over as he was pictured loving playing with his mother's hair and fascinated by Sydney Zoo animals.
Meeting Barack Obama - April 2016
Not many three-year-olds get to meet the President of the United States, as Barack Obama was then. But then, there's only one child who is third in line to the British throne.
This photo of a baffled looking Prince George greeting the leading politician while wearing his dressing gown is still one of our favourites.
We still can't get over how cute it is.
Meeting sister Charlotte - May 2015
Less than two years after we first met George on the steps of the Lindo Wing, the Royal tot returned to meet his new sister Princess Charlotte.
Dressed in matching blue jumpers, George clung to his father Prince William as the two waved to the outside crowds.
Princess Charlotte's Christening - July 2016
Prince George is known for his wardrobe full of colourful shorts.
But this adorable outfit had special meaning as his red shorts were inspired by what Prince William wore to his younger brother Harry's christening in 1984.
The hearts of the nation also melted when he shared this super cute moment with his Great Gan-Gan, the Queen.
Red shorts, red arrow - July 2016
Like lots of three-year-old boys, Prince George is fascinated by planes.
And in July 2016, the heir to the throne was treated to a visit to a RAF base in Gloucestershire.
Here he is, loving life in the cockpit.
Inquisitive child - July 2016
To mark Prince George's third birthday, Kensington Palace released this adorable photo of the young Royal and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's dog Ludo.
Pictured in the Royal residence's grounds, the young Prince looks like any other happy three-year-old as he cheekily lets his dog take a lick of his ice cream cone.
Canada Tour - October 2016
What did we say about George's wardrobe of colourful shorts?
For his second Royal tour in 2016, Prince George travelled to Canada with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Charlotte.
The youngster remained firmly by his father's side throughout the trip and was even too shy a high-five a schoolboy. Adorable.
Family Time - May 2017
Unsurprisingly, George looked absolutely adorable in his pageboy outfit for Pippa Middleton's 2017 wedding to James Matthews.
If anyone was going to steal the bride's thunder, it was going to be Prince George all dressed up in a shirt and trousers scattering flower petals all over the place.
We'd like to book him in for our wedding, thanks.
Trooping the Colour - June 2017
For an airplane lover like George, the annual Trooping the Colour for the Queen's birthday is a real treat.
Pictured here with Princess Charlotte in Summer 2017, the Royal youngsters look totally transfixed by the regale display. Rightly so.
Helicopter visit - July 2017
Just judging from his excited expression, this tour of an RAF rescue helicopter in July 2017 was the stuff of George's dreams.
Especially considering Prince William was a search and rescue pilot with the RAF - odds on Prince George following in his father's footsteps?
George's fourth birthday - July 2017
Every year to mark his birthday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge release an official portrait of the little Prince.
Last year, the adorable little chap looked happily relaxed and with a huge grin on his face. The crazily cute photo will be tough to beat this time round.
First day at school - September 2017
As of September 2017, Prince George has been attending St Thomas's preparatory school in Battersea.
Holding both his father and teacher's hands as he walked in for the first time, the Royal youngster looked adorably calm and collected.
Meeting Prince Louis - April 2018
Unlike sister Charlotte, Prince George doesn't always quite know how to respond to the cameras.
On April 23 the two young royals went to meet their new younger brother Prince Louis at the Ludo Wing.
Quality family time - June 2018
While we're used to seeing Prince George and Princess Charlotte on their best behaviour at public engagements, it was refreshing to see the Royal youngsters enjoying some play time in Gloucester.
After a day of official Trooping the Colour engagements, the Windsors enjoyed a family day out watching Prince William's polo match.
Proving they really are just like us.
Prince Louis' christening - July 2018
Leading the way into the same Chapel Royal where he was christened four years prior, Prince George looks suitably dressed up as his brother got welcomed into the Church.
Oh how time flies.
Turning five - July 2018
We're not going to lie, George's annual birthday photo is always one of our summer highlights.
And this year's snap does not disappoint.
Taken in the Clarence House garden (the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's London home), George is all smiles following his little brother's christening.
Looking happy and relaxed as he enjoys a family day at home, surely we can agree that George's smile just gets cuter every year.
In even more Prince George news, this is the reason the future King won't make a best friend at school.
And this is why Prince George and Princess Charlotte "aren't allowed to eat with their parents at Royal dinners."
Plus, does Kate Middleton have a secret Mumsnet account where she discusses Prince George and Princess Charlotte?
