When is Meghan Markle’s birthday? What age is she and how did the Duchess of Sussex celebrate?
MEGHAN Markle has celebrated yet another milestone – her first birthday as a member of the Royal Family.
After marrying Prince Harry in May 2018, the American’s life has changed considerably.
When was Meghan Markle born?
Meghan was born on August 4, 1981.
She was born in Los Angeles, California, at West Park Hospital in Canoga Park.
Meghan grew up with her parents, Doria Ragland and Thomas Markle Snr until they divorced when she was six-years-old.
Her real name is in fact Rachel, with her middle name Meghan.
She grew up in LA, attending private schools, starting aged two-years-old at Hollywood’s Little Red Schoolhouse.
The new Duchess of Sussex later attended Immaculate Heart High School, an all-girl Catholic private school in Los Angeles.
She went on to study at Northwestern’s School of Communication with a BA and a double major in theatre and international studies.
When is Meghan Markle’s birthday?
Meghan’s birthday is August 4 and she turned 37.
She’s changed the country she lives in, given up her job and has had to overhaul her wardrobe.
And now she has another life event to adjust to – her birthday.
It will no doubt be an occasion celebrated quite differently to other years previously and in her first year as a royal, still has Christmas and New Year to celebrate for the first time with the firm too.
How old will Meghan Markle be?
Meghan celebrated her 37th birthday on 4 August.
She is more than three years older than her new husband, Prince Harry.
He is currently 33 and his birthday isn’t until September.
That makes his new bride three years, one month and 11 days older than him.
How is the Duchess celebrating her birthday?
Just like most people, it’s likely Meghan’s previous birthdays involved some sort of get-together.
Drinks, cakes and presents are likely to have featured on her big day.
This being her first as a royal, she may have expected lavish gifts, an extravagant ceremony with expensive bubbly.
For her 36th birthday, she and Prince Harry spent it in Africa.
But instead this year, the pair attended a wedding.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were guests at the wedding of Prince Harry’s friend, Charlie Von Straubenzee to Daisy Jenks.
The boys have been friends since they attended Ludgrove Prep School in Berkshire together when they were children.
Both Charlie and his older brother, Thomas van Straubenzee, were at Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May.
And it’s reported Harry was the best man at Charlie’s wedding.
But it may be more of a celebration than Meghan would be allowed, as royal protocol dictates royals should only have low-key birthday celebrations with their close family and friends.
That’s a far cry from of Meghan’s previous birthday, where she posted on her now-deleted social media accounts about her celebrations.
One post from 2016 said: “Thank you for all the birthday love!
“Cheers to you all for sticking with me on all things serious and silly.
“Let’s have another amazing year.”
