Meghan and Harry set to spend the summer ‘walking the dogs and having barbecues’ with the Queen at Balmoral
Here's the lowdown on how the Royals will be holidaying this summer...
FOR most newlyweds, jetting off on a summer getaway is almost an excuse to enjoy a second honeymoon.
But most just-married couples (sadly) don't have access to some of the country's most incredible castles like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do.
According to , the Royal couple are set to join the Queen at Balmoral castle in Scotland this summer season.
Keen viewers of The Crown will already know that the Queen retires to her Scottish residence almost every year for her annual three month break.
But it is customary for extended members of the Windsor family to join the monarch for some quality family time. Adorable, right?
Harry and Meghan are expected to join the Queen for a few days this summer and participate in a jam-packed itinerary of dog walking, outdoor picnics, and family barbecues.
Sounds just like our family holiday tbh... minus the Scottish castle of course.
We imagine this laid-back break will be a hit with dog-loving Meghan who brought her rescue pups with her when she moved to the UK ahead of her engagement last year.
But let's not forget this is a Royal getaway. Author of At Home with the Queen Brian Hoey says the lavish outdoor meals are prepared by the usual staff who then "move to a discreet distance where they can keep an eye on things and be within calling range if needed."
After all, being waited on hand and foot probably does make family holidays run smoother...
This will be Meghan's first trip to Balmoral since the Royal Wedding in May and deer hunting as well as traditional parties are also said to be on the Scottish to-do list.
However, the Queen is said to add a motherly air to the family gathering by reportedly hiding small gifts around the castle for the children and is said to "pours the tea" for her family.
Sounds like our reigning monarch is just as adorable as all our grandmothers.
Although it has been rumoured that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might also make a quick trip to the US this summer, the Royal couple will officially embark on their a tour of Australia and New Zealand in October.
