Flat nipples are less pronounced and often the entire nipple blends into the areola.

When cold or stimulated, the nipples can harden.

With inverted nipples, the nipple retracts inwards, instead of out.

Stray hairs growing out of the areola area are very common - and although it's not something we regularly publicise - they are normal.

Some women are hairier than others, and hairs can be fine or coarse. Dr Shainhouse also notes it is safe to pluck them if you want to.
